My Special Friend
My neighbor is a special friend to me. She is eighty two years old and has beenwidow for a year. I think she has more energy than a forty year old does. Everymorning at six o’clock she's waiting outside her door just to wave to me as I goby on my way to work. It always makes me smile to see her there.
She loves to have me visit and I really enjoy her company, even though she'sthirty years older than I am. She's always giving me gifts of food or taking meout to lunch. We tell each other our troubles and then we feel much better.
She keeps very busy mowing her own lawn on her riding lawnmower. In the wintershe drives a truck with a snowplow and plows her own driveway. We even cut woodtogether with her wood splitter. Sometimes we go to the nearest shopping centerand enjoy the day shopping . She says I'm the daughter she never had. I'm justgrateful to know such a special person like her. She always brings a smile to myface.
